Escrito por John Galsworthy


(Coombe, Surrey, 1867 - Londres, 1933) fue uno de los grandes novelistas ingleses de la primera mitad del siglo XX, galardonado en 1932 con el Premio Nobel de Literatura. Estudió en Harrow y se doctoró en Derecho en la Universidad de Oxford, aunque enseguida comenzó a compaginar las leyes con la literatura, animado por la insistencia de su amigo Joseph Conrad. Su trilogía "La Saga de los Forsyte", a la que seguirían otras dos más, agrupadas bajo el tílo "Las Crónicas de los Forsyte", son actualmente un clásico de la Literatura.
