Catherine Lacey (1985) nació en Tupelo, en el estado de Misisipi, y estudió un máster de Bellas Artes en No Ficción Creativa en la Universidad de Columbia. En 2014 fue elegida por Granta como una de las nuevas voces a seguir y en 2017 como una de las mejores novelistas jóvenes de Estados Unidos. Su novela de debut, Nunca falta nadie (Alfaguara, 2014), ha sido traducida a varios idiomas y estuvo entre los mejores libros del año según The New Yorker y Vanity Fair. Su segunda novela, Las respuestas (Alfaguara, 2018), fue unánimemente aclamada por la crítica y también fue elegida como uno de los mejores libros del año por medios como The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Esquire y Huffington Post, entre otros.
