A few more very interesting ships with a passenger capacity of fewer than 30 have been included this time, but in general the entry criteria remains at that level. There can be no doubt that the coverage and detail once again surpasses by far the amount of information available from any other single source.

There have been many changes within the fleets included in the third edition, but orders for new ships had started to trickle through again. Many active ships have been scrapped, partly due to the economic conditions and partly as a result of the SOLAS changes that came into effect in 2010. Many more classic ships have been laid up and some of these are unlikely to see further service.
