Anthony David es director del Instituto de Salud Mental del University College de Londres y neuropsiquiatra honorario del Hospital Nacional en Queen Square. Trabajó como psiquiatra durante veintiocho años en el Hospital Maudsley de Londres, la principal institución psiquiátrica del Reino Unido. Es miembro del Colegio Real de Médicos, el Colegio Real de Psiquiatras y la Academia de Ciencias Médicas. Ha publicado más de seiscientos artículos revisados por pares y es coeditor de la revista Cognitive Neuropsychiatry y del manual de neuropsiquiatría Lishman’s Organic Psychiatry. Asimismo, es autor de la introducción a la edición de Penguin Classics de The Divided Self, de R. D. Laing. Vive en Londres.
