Olaudah Equiano

El autor nació en 1745 en una aldea ibo de la actual Nigeria. Fue secuestrado a los once años y, tras pasar por sucesivos amos africanos, fue vendido a unos traficantes blancos que le embarcaron en un buque esclavista hasta la isla de Barbados; de ahi paso a Virginia, donde fue comprado por un teniente de la armada britanica con quien navego varios años.
