From recollections and sketches from his childhood through the beginning of the underground comix movement to his most recent works, this compendium features previously unpublished material, including work from the '60s for Harvey Kurtzman's Help!, along with reproductions of previously unseen works of art, including paintings and sculptures. Over half in color, the book includes classic full-length comic stories (virtually all in color for the first time), sketchbook material, album cover art, home photos, 14 hand-lettered chapter introductions by Crumb, and a new Crumb cover. Endpapers are large b&w graphics starting and ending the book.
