EL CACHALOTE, PHYSETER MACROCEPHALUS, EN LAS ISLAS CANARIAS

Este trabajo representa el primer estudio exhaustivo de una especie de cetáceos en las Islas Canarias. El asentamiento inusual del cachalote en un área reducida se ve amenazado por el desarrollo del tráfico marítimo. Los análisis: biológico, bioacústico, morfológico y anatomopatológico contribuyen a su estudio y abren la investigación hacia actuaciones inmediatas y concretas de conservación.This work represents the first exhaustive research of a species of cetaceans in the Canary Islands. The unusual settlement of the sperm whale in a small space is endangered by the marine traffic development. The biologic, bio acoustic, morphologic, anatomic and pathological studies open the research to quick and specific conservation intervention.
