Eve Ensler es autora teatral y guionista. Su obra Monólogos sobre la vagina obtuvo un Obie Award en 1997 y fue nominada para el Drama Desk Award. Tuvo un gran éxito en Off-Broadway y se ha representado en todo Estados Unidos, así como en Jerusalén, Zagreb y Londres. Su obra Necessary Targets, encargada por el Teatro Público Joseph Papp, con Meryl Streep y Angelica Huston en los papeles protagonistas, se representó en Broadway en una función a beneficio de las refugiadas bosnias.
