Tullet nació el 29 de junio de 1958 en Avranches, Francia. Tras estudiar ilustración y comunicación visual, trabajó durante unos diez años en publicidad. A principios de los años 90, empezó a trabajar como ilustrador para la prensa. En 1994, fue publicado su primer libro infantil. El reconocimiento no tardó en llegar: recibió el Premio de No Ficción en la Feria del Libro Infantil de Bolonia en 1998 por "Faut pas confondre". Tullet ha escrito más de 80 libros traducidos a más de 30 idiomas. Sus libros favorecen el seguimiento de un camino frente a una narración. Tullet también dirige talleres que reúnen hasta varios centenares de personas. Entre los espacios donde se han celebrado: Tate Modern, Biblioteca del Congreso, MOMA y Museo Guggenheim. "Un libro" es su mayor éxito. Este "libro interactivo" ha vendido más de 2 millones de ejemplares en todo el mundo y ha sido traducido a más de 35 idiomas[5].
