Sebastian Barry nació en Dublín en 1955. Sus novelas y obras de teatro han recibido numerosos galardones, entre los que destacan el Kerry Irish Fiction Prize, el Irish Book Awards Best Novel, el Independent Booksellers Prize y el James Tait Black Memorial Prize.
