Escrito por Graham Greene
Nació el 2 de octubre de 1904, en Berkhamsted (Hertfordshire). Cursó estudios en la Universidad de Oxford, donde colaboró en la revista 'Saturday Westminster'. Más tarde, dirigió, a su vez, el 'Oxford Outlook'. En 1925, publicó su primer libro. Después trabaja en la Compañía Anglo-Americana de Tabacos. Trabajó para el periódico The Times de 1926 a 1929. En 1935 fue crítico de cine en la revista The Spectator, donde fue director literario en 1940. De 1942 a 1943 trabajó para el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores británico en África occidental. Falleció, el 3 de abril de 1991, en Vevey, Suiza.
