Tim Lebbon nació en Londres en 1969. Con vocación de escritor desde niño, hizo su debut en 1994 en la revista Psychotrope. En 1997 publicó Mesmer, su primera novela, y hoy la lista abarca más de treinta obras. De él se ha dicho que con sus tramas complejas redefine el género de terror y de la fantasía para adultos, creando mundos de personajes de proporciones épicas. Es un autor con numerosos premios en su haber (como el Bram Stoker, el Tombstone, el Shocker o el British Fantasy) y varios de sus relatos se han llevado a la gran pantalla. Junto con Joe Abercrombie y China Miéville, forma la triada más interesante del panorama británico actual en lo que a literatura de género se refiere.
