I guess I had high expectations for this one — and they weren’t quite met. All that for that outcome? Yes… but also no. That said, I have to admit I really enjoyed the writing. The range of characters and their individual stories reminded me of The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende — in the best way possible. I also loved how the shifting POVs intertwined to build the tension and mystery. But the ending? It just didn’t land. It felt bland, simplistic, and left me wanting more — not in a good way.
