Sinopsis de THE DANCE OF DEATH

"The Dance of Death – The summer an entire city couldnt stop moving" chronicles the Dancing Plague of 1518 in Strasbourg. It began with one woman, Frau Troffea, stepping into the street and dancing fervently without music. Within a week, 34 others had joined. Within a month, there were 400. They didnt stop to eat or sleep; they danced until their feet bled, and eventually, they began to die of heart attacks and exhaustion.
Author Arthur Step investigates the bizarre reaction of the city council, who hired musicians and built a stage, believing the dancers just needed to "get it out of their systems"—which only encouraged more people to join.
"The Dance of Death" explains this event not as supernatural possession, but as a "mass psychogenic illness" triggered by extreme famine and stress. It is a terrifying look at the fragility of the human mind and how collective anxiety can manifest as a lethal physical compulsion.
