Sinopsis de THE HORSE THAT COUNTED

"The Horse That Counted – How a stallion proved that humans cannot hide their thoughts" tells the famous story of Clever Hans (Der Kluge Hans). In early 20th-century Berlin, a retired schoolteacher named Wilhelm von Osten showcased a horse that could solve math problems, tell time, and spell words by tapping its hoof. The phenomenon baffled scientists for years.
Author Paul Trot explores the investigation by Oskar Pfungst, who eventually cracked the code. Hans wasnt doing math; he was reading the microscopic, unconscious body language of the people asking the questions. When the questioner didnt know the answer, the horse didnt either.
"The Horse That Counted" is the origin story of the "Clever Hans Effect" (Observer-Expectancy Effect). It teaches us that we are constantly broadcasting our expectations to others without realizing it, influencing everything from police interrogations to classroom performance.
