Steve Sem-Sandberg (Suecia, 1958) colabora como crítico literario en «Dagens Nyheter». Debutó como novelista en 1976 con dos libros de ciencia ficción, aunque sus obras posteriores tienen un estilo más documental. También ha escrito ensayos, reportajes, crítica literaria y teatro para radio. Sem-Sandberg fue galardonado en 2009 con el premio Samfundet De Nios Stora, también ha recibido el Premio Literario Aftonbladet y el Gran Premio De Nios. En 2019, su obra «W.» fue nominada para el August Prize, el Premio de Literatura del Consejo Nórdico y el Premio de Literatura de la Radio Sueca. El autor fue elegido miembro de la Academia Sueca en 2020. Actualmente vive en Estocolmo.
