Reflections and Encounters in Development Research through APPEARThe overall objective of APPEAR is to strengthen scientific foundations and institutional capacities in higher education, research, and management at the participating institutions within the thematic framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Since the launch of the program in 2009, 98 preparatory funding projects, 63 academic partnerships, and 11 advanced academic partnerships have been implemented in 24 countries. In all, 174 APPEAR scholarship holders have successfully completed a masters or PhD program at an Austrian University.
