Un día Juan compró tres árboles (un melocotonero, un manzano y un peral) para sembrarlos en su huerto. Quería que creciesen pronto y le dieran rica fruta. Con los cuidados de Juan el melocotonero y el manzano enseguida empezaron a crecer, pero el peral, si bien recibía idénticas atenciones, no terminaba de despegar del suelo.
