The archeological heritage of the Sahara Occidental is rich but poorly-known due to the political difficulties in which the region has been immersed for more than thirty years.nnFor some time a team from the University of Girona and the Ministry of Culture have been working on different aspects of this cultural wealth. This book presents most of the prehistoric paintings which concentrate on the region of the Zemmur. This study has allowed classification of the images in different groups and knowing their chronology. The paintings inform us about the evolution of the extreme Saharan west during its recent prehistory, including both social and natural changes.
