Me, Elena and my story, is a book written through the eyes of an eight-year-old girl, Elena, that with the help of her beloved grandmother, Pipa, narrates her experiences to let others know how you live and what It feels when you are born "different" without knowing the reason why. Throughout her story, Elena demonstrates an eagerness for exemplary improvement thanks to her effort and the hope that science will one day heal "her problem" as she calls it. With this book Elena also has the desire to help other children and families to overcome with a positive attitude the obstacles that life sometimes holds for us which we did not expect, and to be happy. I hope the book will excite you and help you to think over essential aspects that sometimes we do not realize the importance they deserve.

Elena ROMERO CASTELLÓ. Es profesora de investigación en el Instituto de Lenguas y Culturas del Mediterráneo (CCHS, CSIC, Madrid), actualmente jubilada y vinculada Ad honorem. Su principal campo de investigación es el de la literatura sefardí aljamiada, área en la que ha publicado más de cien artículos y unos veinte libros, publicados en su mayoría por el CSIC, entre los que cabe mencionar: "El teatro de los sefardíes orientales" (1979), "Bibliografía analítica de coplas sefardíes" (1992), y "La creación literaria en lengua sefardí" (1992), "Entre dos (o más) fuegos" (2008), "Y hubo luz y no fue tan buena" (2009) y "Los yantares de Purim" (2011). Ha recibido el Premio Samuel Toledano (2006) y el Premio Alberto Benveniste (2014). Desde 2015 es académica correspondiente de la Real Academia Española.
