Gregg Hurwitz es autor de varios thrillers de éxito de crítica y lectores. Sus novelas han sido finalistas de prestigiosos premios entre los que se encuentran el Daga de Acero Ian Fleming concedido por la asociación de escritores de novela criminal y el Premio a la mejor novela del año de de la International Thriller Writers. Actualmente trabaja para la cadena televisiva estadounidense ABC, pero también ha escrito guiones para Warner Bros., Paramount y MGM entre otras conocidas productoras cinematográficas y ha publicado numerosos ensayos académicos sobre Shakespeare. Ha sido profesor de escritura y conferenciante en Harvard y la Universidad de California en Los Ángeles. Para enriquecer su documentación a la hora de escribir sus novelas ha llegado a acompañar a las fuerzas especiales estadounidenses en algunas misiones, nadado con tiburones en las Galápagos y se ha infiltrado en sectas que manipulan mentalmente a sus miembros.
