Photographs includes a foreword by Capa’s close friend Henri Cartier-Bresson, as well as an informative historical essay by Capa biographer Richard Whelan.
Robert Capa was born in Budapest in 1913. He was first recognized for his photographs of the Spanish Civil War. On assignment for Life magazine in 1954, Capa was killed in Vietnam.

De nacionalidad húngara, Robert Capa (1913-1954) es el fotorreportero más importante del siglo XX. En París, adonde había emigrado, conoció a la también fotógrafa Gerda Taro, con la que firmaría sus fotos bajo el seudónimo que inventaron juntos. Cubrió diversos conflictos a lo largo de su vida, entre ellos la Guerra Civil Española, la Segunda Guerra Chino-Japonesa y la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En 1947 fundó, junto a Cartier-Bresson, Chim, Rodger y Vandivert, la mítica agencia Magnum Photos, que reunía a fotógrafos independientes de todo el mundo. Falleció tras la explosión de una mina en la Primera Guerra de Indochina, en 1954.
