Dexter Filkins (1961) ha cubierto, como corresponsal de The New York Times, las guerras de Afganistán e Irak desde 1998. Antes trabajó para Los Ángeles Times, para el que fuue jefe de la corresponsalía en Nueva Delhi, y para The Miami Herald. Fue finalista del premio Pulitzer por sus crónicas desde Afganistán.
