Philip Treacy, qui, malgré sa jeunesse, a déjà été couronné cinq fois du titre prestigieux de "British Acessory Designer of the Year", est devenu en quelques années le modiste anglo-saxon le plus prisé de la planète mode. Il a rencontré Isabella Blow pour la première fois lors d'une séance photo de mode en 1989, alors qu'il était encore étudiant au Royal College of Art. Elle a toujours été son plus fervent supporter et reste sa principale source d'inspiration. Après avoir quitté le RCA, il s'installa chez elle à Londres, où il travailla pendant trois ans dans cet atelier improvisé. Nombre de ses chapeaux les plus fantastiques et sculpturaux furent créés pour Isabella. Issy ne me dit jamais: « Tu es allé trop loin », explique Philip Treacy Mais au contraire: « Il faut aller encore plus loin ».
