Janice Hallett estudió Literatura Inglesa en la University College de Londres y trabajó durante muchos años como editora de revistas, una labor que le granjeó dos premios de periodismo. También ha trabajado en comunicación gubernamental para instituciones de Reino Unido como el Ministerio del Gobierno, el Ministerio del Interior y el Departamento para el Desarrollo Internacional. Tras obtener un máster en Creación de Guiones en la Royal Holloway, coescribió la película Aislados (2011) y creó la comedia teatral shakesperiana NetherBard, así como numerosas obras para teatros londinenses. Es autora de La apelación, obra con la que ha renovado con lucidez la novela policíaca de nuestro siglo, y también de El código Twyford. y El misterioso caso de los Ángeles de Alpertony La apelación de Navidad, todas ellas publicadas por Ático de los Libros.
