Catherine Banner nació en Cambridge (Reino Unido) en 1989 y escribió su primera novela juvenil a los catorce años. Estudió Literatura Inglesa en el Fitzwilliam College, en Cambridge, y trabajó como profesora de educación secundaria en Durham. Es autora de The Last Descendants, una exitosa trilogía de ficción para lectores jóvenes. La isla de las mil historias es su primera novela para adultos y ha aparecido en las listas de los mejores libros de 2016 en medios tan prestigiosos como Kirkus Reviews, la National Public Radio o New York Magazine. Su obra se ha traducido a veintidós idiomas. Actualmente vive en Turín con su marido.
