Peter Mayle (1939, Brighton, Inglaterra) es psicólogo y psicoanalista. Escritor y periodista prolífico, sus libros ¿De dónde venimos? y ¿Qué me está pasando?, destinados a padres y educadores, sobre temas como la sexualidad o la adolescencia se hicieron mundialmente famosos en la década de los ochenta. Más tarde, alcanzó la fama como novelista con sus best sellers Un año en Provenza y Vivir en Provenza, crónicas de sus aventuras como propietario de una antigua casa de campo en el sur de Francia.
